This is a short timelapse of our platform that some of our team put together in the span of a couple of days.
The platform will be finalised with steps, hand rails, heavy duty tents and solar lighting, intended to be used by our future guest travellers.
This is a prime location carefully selected by our team, as it is right next to the jungle where a family of illusive White-Handed Gibbons can be heard and sometimes sighted – a truly unforgettable experience.
Special thanks to Peter Nobbs – “Nobbsy’, our resident genius Ekraj Thonglueng, Kurt Keesing, Nick Harding and Paul Riley for the construction of our “Cloud-Based Cuckoo Land” Aussie Bush-Camp, made with local timber sourced by local Karen Hill Tribe men, based in Baan Khuntae, Thailand.
Step into the heart of the jungle of remote northern Thailand, or as we know it, the Lanna Kingdom, where the canopy comes alive with sound.
In this video, you’ll hear the haunting, melodic calls of white-handed gibbons echoing through the forest — a natural symphony that has inspired cultures, stories, and now, our name.
At GibbonSong, we draw our identity from these incredible primates and their powerful voices. Their songs are more than just calls — they are expressions of connection, territory, partnership, and life deep within the wild.
We believe those same qualities — harmony, communication, and respect for nature — should guide everything we do.
Listen closely, and you’ll understand why their song became ours
